Photo Assignment October 3rd - October 16th

Hello Friends,

Our first assignment seemed to be difficult-  sometimes something so open ended makes it hard to make a decision or think of the right kind of picture. If you come up with anything for last weeks, feel free to post it, but we will go ahead with our next assignment anyway!

Our new assignment is titled "Weather".   I was fortunate to have my camera out during the storm that went through on thursday night, because I really wanted to capture a rainy day for my weather entry. (I wanted to take a picture of lightning-- but it was so hard!  I sat by my window clicking my shutter open for 2 seconds for around ten minutes, and of course, the one lightning bolt within my frame was between clicks!)  Meanwhile, I did manage to capture a picture of the rain on my window, and the clouds as the rain went away.

2.0s 30mm f/22.0 ISO100

As you think about what kind of picture you would like to get for this assignment, feel free to do any kind of weather. I see blue skies out of my office window as I am writing this, and blue skies are welcome after all that grey.  But I wonder what kind of a picture could highlight grey skies and make them more appealing?

Don't Forget that Pumpkinfest is this weekend-- I know that a few of us have entries in "A New View" Photography Contest (I know that Chad, Alisha and Myself have all entered. Anyone else?) you can view our entries and vote for your favorites from Noon til 8 on Thursday and Friday, or from 10 til 2 on Saturday at the Howard Miller Library.

I can't wait to see what kind of weather pictures you all come up with! Post them on the blog, or email them to me and I can post them for you. ---Meredith

P.S. our next assignment beginning October 17th is titled "Parts of the Whole"-- just in case you want to start thinking ahead!
